What is doubletake?

Hell0 and welcome to doubletake! This blog is an experiment/collaboration of sorts between Abby Logan and Sara Bassick.

Abby and I have known each other for almost 15 years now (wow!) and whenever we get together (which is sadly only about once a year), we talk about wanting to collaborate on a creative project. We are both working graphic designers and although very happy with our respective jobs, are looking for an outlet that isn’t so structured or hindered by time, format, money, etc.

We are both very intrigued by the idea of picking a broad theme and then both going off into our own little creative nests for a month to interpret and visualize that theme. At the end of that month, each of us would reveal our solution and then discuss.

In the meantime, we will both be posting snippets of our projects (without giving too much away) and pieces/words/colors/concepts that have inspired our choices along the way.

The theme for the Month of January is WINTER.

Thanks for reading and we look forward to your feedback.

nice blog; elegant; your perspective on winter made me realize I can turn mine around, and to focus on creative outlets and the hibernation of winter. Sometimes winter passes me by creatively, though I say all summer that winter is the time for major projects. It was also helpful to see that I am not the only one who isolates herself, without realizing it, and then trying to counter those effects. Thank you.
